Family Support
IIF Family Assistance Personnel support the State Family Readiness offices in caring for military families of deployed soldiers. One of the Family Assistance Centers' (FAC) core missions is to provide guidance to military families on a large scope of issues. Personal issues may require counseling and referrals to an area Chaplain, legal matters may require referrals to a military JAG, and pay problems may require help from the military pay section at the State HQ. FACs also receive calls that relate to insurance, finances, household items, burned out family, etc.
IIF employees staffing the FACs possess professional skills to support families and their many issues. They are familiar with local resources available and/or personal knowledge and life experience as it pertains to recommendations on general questions that relate to military deployment.
IIF also provides a Family Support Program Manager at the National level that acts as an advocate for our family support programs, and provides support to employees and the client, while managing time accounting and status reporting activities. IIF has also designated local Project Leads to keep a pulse on project activity and to refer employees to the proper IIF corporate resource when they have an issue. The local Project Lead also assists the Project Manager with the collection of time accounting, status reports, and client communications.
Additional Family Support Services provided by IIF include:
- Youth Program Coordinator- Manages and plans Youth Service Programs
- Volunteer Program Coordinator - Recruits and organizes volunteer resources to assist with Family Support Service initiatives
- Congressional Inquiry Liaison - Responsible for addressing Congressional requests for information and special action requests
- Call Center Operators- IIF operates a 24x7x 365 call center that receives international calls from deployed soldiers and makes warm transfers to domestic numbers that include family, friends, banks, etc.
